He Didn’t Want to Feed Those Moochers Anyway

Paul Ryan stopped by a soup kitchen in Youngstown, Ohio, but there were no pathetic wretches around to feed, so he did the next best thing:

Ryan was photographed cleaning “large metal pans that did not appear to be dirty” during a 15-minute visit, the Post previously reported.

Also this:

After his time in the kitchen Ryan spoke to homeless people outside the soup kitchen, but reporters were kept from monitoring the conversation.

“Hey bra’s, what’s up?
[silence]
Did you guys get a chance to check out my workout pics?
[silence]
Yeah, they was stylin’.
[silence]
I’m just chillin’ wit my homie Mitt, hopin’ to move into some new digs come January.
[silence]
Know what I’m sayin’?
[silence]
S’cool. S’cool. Catch you bra’s on the flipside.
[exits to motorcade]

Update: Aaaaaaaaaand here’s the video. It’s actually much more awkward than anticipated.

Ugh. I mean, I know politicians do this all the time. But he all but says, “Hey, kids – we’ve got to get some photos of us taken when we’re cleaning pans. So I’ll just spray a few with water and you dry them off, and then I promise we’ll go to McDonald’s like we talked about.”

I mean, it’s really remarkably like he’s dutifully and cheerfully completing a task here – only the task is checking off a box on a list given to him by his campaign adviser.
