Something in my veins, bloodier than blood

Caught two Wilco shows this weekend at the Solid Sound festival at Mass MoCA in North Adams, MA. Wet wet wet as there were heavy storms all weekend, but both shows were stellar. Stereogum has the set lists and a few videos. The second show featured an eight song encore set that included California Stars (with Woody Guthrie’s granddaughter, Sarah Lee Guthrie), Heavy Metal Drummer, Passenger Side, Monday, Hoodoo Voodoo. Geez, not bad for my 15-year-old daughter’s first rock concert.

Here is Paste’s ranking of the 30 best Wilco songs of all time. No complaints, except that “Handshake Drugs” should be in the top five and “What Light” should be on there somewhere. And I’ve never quite warmed to “War on War.”

And because you’re so nice, here is Wilco’s new single, I Might. Sounds like a return to the Summerteeth era.
