Roll Your Blues Away

Here’s an obscure cut from an obscure band, Canada’s own Trooper, best known for their 1978 hit “Raise a Little Hell.” This one is a heartfelt tribute to the restorative powers of the Roller Rink.

Sample lyrics:
You hurt me like a punch in the mouth
You didn’t have to hurt me so bad
You could have left me something to live for
But you took the only life that I had

CHORUS:
I’m gonna go on down to the roller rink
And roll my blues away
Gonna strap on a pair of roller skates
and rollllllllllllll

[Props: the incomparable Cobra Verde]
